(i) · Brief
An ongoing inquiry into the joint as ornament · board-formed concrete and oxidised bronze in slow conversation.
An on-going material study installed in the studio courtyard: forty full-scale joint conditions tested in concrete, bronze, and lime plaster. The piece is rebuilt every season.
We are interested in the ornament that emerges from honest assembly · the chamfer that the welder leaves, the patina that the rain writes, the shadow that the joint casts at four in the afternoon.
The work has no client. It has only weather, and time, and the slow attention of the people who walk past it.
